What is the gospel according to the Bible?
Sometimes it seems like with all that is going on in the world today there is nothing solid and sure, but there is something that you can definitely rely on: the Bible—God’s words!
The Bible says in 1 John 5:13, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life.”
Here's what the gospel is according to the Bible. These verses will explain how you can know for sure that you have eternal life.
First, you have to RECOGNIZE that you are a sinner. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Secondly, you must REALIZE that there is a payment to a Holy God for your sins. If you want to pay it yourself, it is eternity burning in the Lake of Fire. Revelation 20:15 says, “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
Thirdly, the good news is that your Creator, Jesus Christ, made the payment just for you. He shed God’s blood on the cross to take away your sins and then said “IT IS FINISHED” in John 19:30. All that you have to do is RECEIVE him as your personal Saviour and trust his shed blood as full payment for your sins. John 1:12 says, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God.”
So, in order to go to heaven when you die, you just need to RECOGNIZE, REALIZE, and RECEIVE. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Won’t you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ today?
